Back Up Gun (BUG) Match
This match is for those wanting to put some time on their backup guns. J-frames, small Glocks, Kahrs, Kel-Tecs, etc. (pistol barrels need to be 3.8" or less and revolver barrels 3" or less) are common models found at the match, but you are welcome to shoot your full size guns also in a separate category. All stages are 5 or less shots with no reloads on the clock. Many are low/no light stages so bring your flashlights!
IDPA as a sport is quite simply the use of practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated "real world" self-defense scenarios. Shooters competing in IDPA events are required to use practical handguns and holsters that are truly suitable for self-defense use. No "competition only" equipment is permitted in IDPA matches since the main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual, not his equipment or gamesmanship. Monthly matches do not require a current membership in IDPA but one is encouraged after the second match.
IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST MATCH: You will need to show up by 8:30AM to receive a safety lecture before being allowed to shoot. Ask any member to direct you to a Range Officer (RO) so that you can get this done before the match.
