Practical Rifle (Multiple Ranges)

April 2, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Event Series Event Series (See All)

ATTENTION: CONTACT THE ORGANIZER FOR SPECIFIC RANGE BEING USED.

The goal of Practical Rifle is to learn and apply the skill-sets for making hits on target “at speed” in the < 300 yard range, including CQB distances, with occasional 600 yard shooting, using a carbine rifle. Also, learning to run secondary transitions using a sidearm at closer ranges is emphasized. Practice sessions are usually no more than 100 rounds carbine rifle and 75 rounds pistol. Have more ammunition with you.

The skill level for participants in practical rifle is  intermediate and it is not considered a beginner program. Although Practical Rifle also emphasizes the use of pistols, it is not considered a two-gun event. Practical Rifle is not a class or a competition. Practical Rifle is a practice. The program director and Safety officers develop drills and courses-of-fire that challenge and develop skills with the gear you bring. We use different scoring on targets and shot timers to help you measure different aspects of your skill with the gear you bring.

In most cases, if the participant is having a challenge with their gear, you will get an opportunity to adapt, overcome and learn through experience. However, the Safety Officer will intervene for safety issues.
