Intro to Practical/Competitive Pistol

The “Intro to Practical/Competitive Pistol” class is designed for the novice and intermediate level shooters who are comfortable with their firearms and are seeking to enhance their defensive pistol shooting skills.

This class prepares you for joining one of the advanced training groups by introducing: range safety procedures, common range commands, competitive firearm skills, tactical reloads and speed reloads, firearm malfunctions, tactical footwork, etc…

Followed by the fundamentals of proper shooting, including stance, grip, trigger control, drawing from a holster, sighted verses unsighted aiming and more.

This class is a perfect precursor to joining MRPC’s popular “Practical Pistol Training” held at the RVSSA Reserve/LE Training range on Thursday evenings.

Materials needed for the training:

  • An outside the waist-band holster and magazine carrier
  • A firearm and 3 magazines
  • Eye and hearing protection
  • 50 rounds of ammunition for each session

The class is limited to 16 students.

Pre-registration is required.
